Mobilis in Mobili is the title of this cycle linked to impossible machines. Each of them has in common the fact that they are motionless vehicles but that within them there is a moving landscape. This is a sort of reversal of the significance attributed to travel and exploration. Generally, the machine transports us, and through motion, it enables us to observe the external world and perceive changes in the landscape. In this case the exact opposite happens. We are outside it and we observe the landscape within the machine. In this inaction of ours we take a journey that requires no movement on our part.
