Microcrystals Dream belongs to the series of screen paintings, a process I invented in 2006 where 3D animation absorbs the painted mark, which becomes an integral part in a constant challenge to perception. The painting interventions are made directly on the screen and interact with the digital ones as they are designed to coexist with them. However, the painting also has a visible permanence even when the screen is off. This leads to an identity transformation of the object. In this specific case, the monochromatic painted marks mimic those of the white color of the underlying digital image. This results in a symbolic alphabet that can evoke a multitude of chromosomes or a secret map of the genetic transcription of the work. The images are inspired by organic molecules and microcrystals seen under the microscope.
